"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.It was my very first day of school ever, I was crying, and so scared to go, I didn't want to leave my parents and go off to school, not even for a 1/2 day of school. I remember my dad telling me "be a big girl and go to school, and when you come home, I will have a treat for you."
Of course at 5yrs old, I was excited, so I still cried, but went to school. When I got home, my dad said here is a box of candy that I saved just for you. It was a box of Boston baked beans (never had them before). I looked at him and said "daddy you saved me a box of beans." He just laughed and said its candy. I said why would someone put sugar on beans. He said try them you might like them.., my dad was right. Everyday I came from school he had a box of Boston baked beans waiting for me.
When I got older, I was able to go to the candy store by myself, and with my allowance that I got, which was $1.00 and they were only 10 cents a box, spent all my allowance on them. It was great, my dad even taught me a game to play with them, although he didn't like me spending all my money on candy, he never said I couldn't. ~ Cindy from Indiana
