Candy Memory: Back in the '60's when I was in school, milk money was 3 cents and mom let us keep the change. Everyday my brothers and I walked home from school and we would stop at the nicest little corner store called Lanetti's to get candy. It was always packed with kids picking out their favorites. I always chose BB Bats, wax bottles, candy bracelets or a huge sweet tart that would last for hours. My brothers would also get baseball and football cards, their heads bent rifling quickly through them, looking for a special card. Their generous offer of the gum was always a laugh to me because it was so hard it would break in two. It was always worth it to be a walker at school just for the stop at Lanetti's!
