12 Days of “Craft-Mas” – Day 2 – Candy Machine

in Candy Blog

This may be the best candy machine yet! You don’t even have to try to wiggle a coin in the slot and hope you get more than one.

Coin operated vending machines date all the way back to 1615 in England.  Modern day machines dispense everything from candles to electronics and even fishing bait. Nothing beats the classic gumball machine! We’ve made a fun spin on the machine that can be customized to match your decor, holiday, and favorite candy. No worrying whether or not that piece will get stuck in the machine!

Gathering List

  • Flower Pot &  Saucer
  • Fish Bowl Vase
  • Wooden Knob
  • Paint
  • Hot Glue
  • Ribbon
  • Candy

Instructions

  1. First we painted the flower pot, saucer and knob all a matching color.  It may take 2 or 3 coats, depending on your paint.  We chose red because of the classic look, you could custom make it to whichever you’d like. It would be a great gift for anyone on your list.
  2. After the paint is dry, glue the knob to the saucer and the bowl to the flower pot as shown in the image.  We used hot glue.
  3. Fill the bowl with your favorite treat.  We used Christmas Malt Balls.
  4. Finish with a matching ribbon and enjoy!
