"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.I remember a kinder, gentler time each time I see Bazooka bubble gum. As with virtually any school kid, I wasn't allowed to chew gum in class. But being one who would look for a way to beat the system, I found two ways to chew gum in class.
The first was when we were told to give an oral report on anything we wanted to. I chose bubble gum. In order to make my report more impressive, I handed out "samples" of Bazooka bubble gum to everyone in the class and proceeded to teach the intricacies of bubble blowing. As this was my report, the teacher couldn't say no.
The other time, I went into class prepared for the cliché line "I hope you have enough for the whole class" which every teacher uses to dissuade students from eating in class. When the teacher saw me chewing gum, she asked the question and I was ready. I pulled out a bag of Bazooka and handed out a piece to everyone in class. Fortunately, the teacher had a sense of humor and allowed us to chew the gum as long as we promised to throw it away before we left the classroom. The joy of rebellion was alive and living in my chewing gum. ~ Dennis from New Jersey
