"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here. When I turned five I decided that it was time for me to learn how to blow bubbles. My mother was not real keen on the idea, but my father thought it was great.
One day my father came home with a big bag of Bazooka Bubble Gum and I was the happiest little girl in the world. I would chew and chew, because daddy told me I had to get all the sweet out of it in order to blow a bubble. I enjoyed the taste of my Bazooka Bubble Gum so much that I didn't mind that part at all.
After about a week of blowing my bubble gum across the floor and taking it in my fingers and spreading it out over my tongue I finally got it. At first they were little bubbles and then the big day arrived. I blew a gigantic bubble and went running in to show my daddy. As I ran the bubble spread and by the time I got to the living room it had popped and it was all over my face and hair!
My mother worked for hours trying to get it all off and finally I had to have my long blonde hair cut. My mother was devastated, but I was just happy that I had accomplished my goal. I guess back then it was a right of passage to becoming a "big kid".
My little girl will soon be five and I will supply her with that same Bazooka Bubble Gum that I loved so much (and still do), but I will make sure her hair is pulled up and away from her face. ~ Linda from Missouri
