"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here. When I was a kid, we took at least one long road trip per year. We always drove on our trips, and my mother was a frugal woman. We would bring food for snacks and lunch, stopping for supper at a restaurant we all voted on. The best thing I remember her bringing was 100 grand bars. She would let us kids help her pick out some goodies to take along, and I would always pick these gooey, crunchy bars. She would buy a bag of the fun size and put it in the cupboard until it was time to go.
I always wanted to break into that bag long before our trip began. As soon as we left the driveway, I would be asking to have just one of those scrumptious candy bars! They never lasted very far into the trip. All too soon, the bag was empty! I always will associate these candy bars with our good times together as a family on our vacations. ~ Kami from Maine
This was back when this candy was called $100,000 bars, not 100 Grand bars. I remember going to my friend Cori's birthday party in elementary school, maybe third grade. At the party her mom told us that we were each going to get $100,000. Although we didn't really believe her, we didn't completely not believe her either. She kept us going through most of the party and we kept up hope. When she handed out these candy bars instead we were disappointed. But, the candy was good and I had fun telling my mom about it when I got home. ~ Sarah from Virginia
